Our 10,000 sq ft workshop has been on Lawndale Avenue for decades, and most of the rugs we clean in a given month belong to neighbours — the condo communities along Lincoln Avenue, the brick two-flats north of Oakton, the post-war ranch homes off Church Street, and the newer builds near Old Orchard. The rugs in these homes are just as varied — heirloom Persian pieces passed down through generations, mid-century wool rugs from the era when the ranch homes were built, and contemporary custom work in the newer units.

Our cleaning approach is the same regardless: cold-water hand washing, dye testing before any water touches the pile, conservation-grade pH-matched chemistry, flat drying under controlled airflow, and full documentation on every intake. The process that protects a 19th-century Kashan protects a contemporary wool rug too. There is no “lower standard” cleaning at Ahmadi Rug.

Free pickup — or drop off in person

Skokie pickups are usually scheduled within 24 hours of your inquiry. Since the workshop is right in town, we can often accommodate same-day pickup for clients who need quick turnaround. Pickups are insured, included in the price, and photographed at the point of collection for chain-of-custody documentation.

For Skokie residents who prefer to see the workshop, drop-offs are welcome Monday through Friday 8am–6:30pm and Saturday 9am–3pm. Our Skokie clients often drop off in person — call ahead and we will have someone ready to receive your rug.

What Skokie rug cleaning costs

Pricing is the same for Skokie as for any other location we serve: wool and hand-knotted rugs from $2.50–$4.50 per square foot, with a standard 8×10 typically running $200–$360. Persian and Oriental pieces with natural dyes are priced individually after a free assessment. Silk rugs are quoted after inspection. Every estimate is written and firm before any work begins.
